A SEVRES JEWELLED BLEU NOUVEAU ASSEMBLED PART TEA AND CHOCOLATE SERVICE
Circa 1780, gilt interlaced L's marks, painter's marks for Le Guay l'aîné
With interlaced richly gilt and jewelled ribbons enclosing pendant leaves between gilt bands and white jewelled beaded borders, comprising:
A globular teapot and cover (théière 'Calabre' et son couvercle, 1eme grandeur)
A sugar-bowl and cover (pot à sucre 'Calabre' et son couvercle, 1eme grandeur)
A footed milk jug (pot à lait 'à trois pieds', 1eme grandeur)
A waste-bowl
Three chocolate cups (gobelets 'Litron', 1eme grandeur)
together with:
Three Sèvres style coffee-cans and six Sèvres style saucers decorated en suite (16)
