Johann Georg Heintze was apprenticed at Meissen at the age of 13. He became one of the leading decorators for the factory until 1748. At that time his misbehavior and discontent led to imprisonment where he was forced to paint porcelain. He escaped in 1749 and eventually ended up in Berlin.
