A PAIR OF MEISSEN FOOTED SHELL-SHAPED SALTS
Circa 1735, blue crossed swords marks
Each as a scallop shell raised on three scroll feet and with a tightly scrolled end, painted in the center with a spray of indianische Blumen and around the edge with three scenes of Europeans in conversation within rural landscapes and park settings, each reserved within gilt Laub-und-Bandelwerk cartouches enriched with purple scrolls, a band of similar strapwork along the gilt line rim
