A PAIR OF MEISSEN GILT-METAL MOUNTED THREE-LIGHT CANDELABRA
Circa 1740, blue crossed swords mark and Pressnummer 53 to each,
initially modelled by J.J. Kdändler and J.F. Eberlein for 'The Swan Service'R
Each modelled as Acis seated on the back of a dolphin beside a palm tree enriched in green extending into three branches terminating in candle nozzles, a nereid gazing adoringly up at him at the right, two baby tritons swimming around her, the whole raised on a tripartite base moulded with shells and blank cartouches enriched in gilt
