A MEISSEN SILVER-MOUNTED OVAL SNUFF BOX
Circa 1765, the cover associated, the mount with import mark for Austria-Hungary 1886-1922 and likely a later replacement
The front, back and bottom finely painted in the style of Watteau with figures in landscape vignettes, delicate flowers pendant from scrolls at each end, the cover moulded and enriched in colours with forget-me-nots and yellow four-petaled flowerheads on an ozier-moulded ground, the interior in a different hand with a similar scene after Watteau
2¾in. (7cm.) wide
