19th century, blue crossed swords mark to the interior
Of cartouche form, moulded and enriched in puce and pale yellow with rocaille scrolls, painted in the style of Watteau with elegant figures conversing in rural landscapes and along the banks of busy rivers, the bottom with scattered flowers, the interior of the cover possibly after Wooverman with a figure on horsebank asking directions of a fisherman, the town's cathedral in the background, a woman selling fish in the foreground
