Lot Essay

The rue de Paradis and the rue du Paradis Poissonière were important centres for porcelain manufacturers throughout the 19th Century. The the celebrated firm of Sansom was based at 17 rue de Paradis from 1845, well into the 20th Century. A related 'Décoration grecque' is illustrated in L'art céramique au XIXe Siècle, published by Lévy in 1876.
