With scroll handles and painted with ribbon-tied musical and amatory trophies within blue and gilt feuille-de-choux borders linked by flower garlands

Lot Essay

The present model for which a plaster survives in the factory archives first came into use in 1758. The earlier date on the present example would appear to be a factory error, as there are no indications of later decoration.
