The scrolled branches above an urn decorated with vine and acanthus on a square pedestal base with laurel leaf wreaths and further acanthus

Pierre-Philippe Thomire (1751-1843).

Thomire was paerhaps the most important bronzier of the Empire period, producing an unparalleled ouvre that spanned ormolu mounts for furniture, sculpture and bronzes d'ameublement, much of it supplied to the Imperial court.
