A Safavid gold damascened and watered steel vambrace, Iran, dated AH 1154/1741-2 AD
the forearm guard shaped to cover the exterior with inner hinged flap, both carved with paired concentric oval medallions divided by small gold damascened lozenges, associated buckles -- 13 7/8in. (35cms) long.

The inscriptions are from the Qur'an, sura ii, (al-baqara), v.255-mid v.257, followed by the date 1154.
