A Khatamkari rectangular box and cover, 16th/17th century
teak veneered with ebony, inlaid with ivory, green stained ivory and brass, finely decorated with a central micro-mosaic medallion flanked by two geometric panels all within delicate interlacing floral borders, the sides with similar geometric panels, two later gilt bronze masks forming the handles and four ball feet to the base -- 20 7/8in. (53cm.) x 13½in. (34.3cm.)
