Two Kashan lustre bowls, 13th century
one with tapering foot and flaring rim, the cream interior with pale lustre stylised arabesques and roundels surrounding a central figural panel, the other similarly decorated with figural roundels alternating with floral and foliate motifs -- 6in. (15.2cms) and 6½in. (16.5cms) diam.
Provenance: Dikran G. Kelekian, sold Parke-Bernet, 21-23 October 1953, lot 322 (smaller bowl). (2)
