There are several members of the Moncada family that became cardinals during the potential date of weaving of the tapestry. They include Hugo Ambrosio de Moncada, cardinal of Seo de Urgel (1580-1586), Juan de Moncada (d. 1622), cardinal of Barcelona (1610) and Tarragona (1612-1622) and Pedro de Moncada (d. 1621), cardinal of Gerona (1620-1621).
