A PEUCETIAN POTTERY STAMNOS
CIRCA LATE 5TH CENTURY B.C.
With twin rectangular loop handles, decorated in black with eight palmettes around the shoulder, with knobbed disc lid, small repair to jar's rim; and six Apulian pottery vessels, decorated in dark brown and orange, comprising a Peucetian two-handled kantharos with geometric linear friezes; another with wavy lines on the shoulder, repaired; three two-handled kantharoi decorated with palmettes, one on high-stemmed foot; and a stemmed dish, the rim pierced twice, all early 6th-4th Century B.C.
