A GRAECO-ROMAN BRONZE FIGURE OF A WAYFARER
CIRCA 2ND-1ST CENTURY B.C.
Walking with head bent, leaning on his staff, on integral circular base, 3 1/8 in. (7.9 cm.) high; a group of bronzes including a Ptolemaic figure of a fisherman, wearing short chiton, his hair tied up in a top-knot, with right arm extended; a sleeping Nubian boy; a standing dwarf figure with ape-like features, hands across belly, suspension loop at rear; a seated mournful female holding a columned bust; two figures of Marsyas; a lid with a seated bearded warrior wearing a 'turban', 3 3/8 in. (8.5 cm.) high max.; a bronze cylindrical attachment leg, 4 in. (10.2 cm.) long, all mainly Graeco-Roman, circa 3rd-1st Century B.C.; a group of Egyptian figures including Isis wearing lotiform headdress; Osiris; two cobrae; and a syncretic bird figure wearing an atef-crown, all circa 4th-1st Century B.C., 2¾ in. (7 cm.) high max.; and a Roman bearded philosopher, standing with right knee bent forwards, the upper part of his torso naked, whilst he gathers up the folds of his falling garments in his left hand, on integral circular base, probably circa 1st Century A.D., 5 in.
