A GROUP OF MAINLY BRONZE AMULETS
LATE PERIOD-PTOLEMAIC, CIRCA 6TH-1ST CENTURY B.C.
Including an inscribed heart surmounted by a disk, Wsir hs, "above blood vessels", with suspension loop behind the disk, circa 6th-4th Century B.C., 1½ in. (3.8 cm.) high; an inscribed miniature basket, with two handles, hieroglyphs under one handle, ¾ in. (2.4 cm.) high; a pharaoh-headed crocodile, loop underneath, 1 in. (2.3 cm.) long; a rectangular four-sided column bearing on each side respectively: Tueris(?), snake, human child(?), four lines of Greek inscription, suspension loop above, 1 in. (2.5 cm.) high; a calf(?)-headed finial or gaming piece, ¾ in. (2.3 cm.) high; a left arm holding a lotus flower; two falcon-headed columns, each surmounted by a cobra, sun disk between horns and a further falcon or eagle; a group of other bronze amulets; a green stone crocodile(?); a wooden double-headed syncretisitc crocodile; and a steatite standing worshipping baboon, 1¾ in.
