A ROMAN IRON RING WITH POLISHED INTAGLIO OF MOUNT ARGAEUS
2ND CENTURY A.D.
The iron ring encased within a later ring setting, the polished surface of the intaglio with two goddesses, probably Tyche and Hera, facing one another with one arm raised in greeting the other leaning on long staff, Mount Argaeus above and a grazing horse below
1.8 x 1.3 cm.; 2.2 cm. across inner hoop
