A ROMAN CHALCEDONY INTAGLIO WITH ZEUS ENTHRONED
CIRCA 1ST CENTURY A.D.
The convex stone engraved with Zeus enthroned, a mantle around his waist and legs, in one hand he holds a long sceptre, in his other he supports a figure of Victory, an eagle by his feet, a Greek inscription reading *OYKI*, in later ring setting
1.6 x 1.3 cm.; 2 cm. across inner hoop
