POSSIBLY GRAECO-EGYPTIAN, 2ND-4TH CENTURY A.D.
The oval stone engraved with the naked figure of Herakles wrestling with the Nemean lion, his club behind him, on groundline, the reverse with Ouroboros encircling the Greek letters IAW twice, two double cross symbols and the barred 'Z' symbol of Chnoubis, with four lines of Greek inscription below, in later swivel ring setting
2.7 x 1.6 cm.; 2 cm. across inner hoop
