The present work appears to be a study for the oil painting Gaîté Rochechouart c.1906, (Wendy Baron, Sickert, 1973, cat. 243), previously in the collection of Derek Hill who bequeathed it to Montissfant Abbey, Romsey via the National Art Collections Fund.

Trapeze is to be included in the forthcoming revised edition of Dr. Wendy Baron's, Sickert Catalogue.
