A SYRIAN PALE CREAM STONE OFFERING DISH
SECOND HALF OF 3RD MILLENNIUM B.C.
Of compressed hemispherical form with twin rope-shaped lugs beneath the rim, an incised line below, the interior with smooth hemispherical central depression, the wide horizontal rim with incised geometric motifs, including triangles and chequerboards, within concentric bands, flattened base, 3 5/8 in. (9.2 cm.) diam.; a Syrian veined pink stone oval bowl with flattened base, the sides flaring outwards slightly and with carinated everted lip, 4½ in. (11.5 cm.) wide; and a Syrian miniature veined cream stone bowl, of basket shape, with slightly carinated rim, 1½ in. (3.8 cm.) high, both 3rd millennium B.C. (3)
