A PAIR OF ISLAMIC GOLD EARRINGS
CIRCA 11TH-12TH CENTURY A.D.
Each of crescentic form with spherical bead type decoration infilled with granules and bordered with twisted wire, the high looped ear wire with hinge mechanism; and an East Roman gold earring of openwork crescentic form decorated with wire circles infilled with spiral wirework, fine suspension loops below with pendant chains, one chain missing, circa mid-2nd/3rd Century A.D.
1¼ in. (3.2 cm.) and 1 7/8 in. (4.7 cm.) long respectively (3)
