TWO EARLY CORINTHIAN POTTERY ARYBALLOI AND AN ALABASTRON

An aryballos with two confronting bulls on the body, a swan in profile under the handle, rosettes in the field, zigzag down the handle, rays around rim, neck and base; another, the body decorated in red and black with a large male bearded siren facing a fish, the siren with outstretched wings with inward curling tips, the base with six-armed swirl motif, both 2¼ in. (5.7 cm.) high; and an alabastron, the body with profile dove-like bird with outstretched wings, facing animal with similar bird body but feline head with large ears, rosettes in the field, painted rosette around base, rim missing, 3¾ in. (9.6 cm.) high (3)
