A MYCENAEAN POTTERY STIRRUP JAR
14TH-12TH CENTURY B.C.
The compressed globular body with shallow ring base, twin strap handles flanking false neck, and a spout, painted with umber coloured arcs around the shoulder and fine and broad bands around the body and on neck disc; and a pottery carinated alabastron, the squat cylindrical body with straight sides and sloping shoulders, short concave neck and everted rim, painted with bands around the rim, shoulder and body, with circles and zigzags around the neck, the flat base with concentric circles, two loop handles (restored) attached to the shoulder, 14th-13th Century B.C.
3 in. (7.6 cm.) and 2¾ in. (6 cm.) high respectively (2)
