A LARGE MYCENAEAN POTTERY HANDLED JUG
12TH-11TH CENTURY B.C.
The compressed globular body with low circular base, the wide slightly flared neck with rounded everted rim, a single vertical handle attached to rim and shoulder, decorated with orange-brown band around rim, single bands inside the neck and outside at its base, two bands around the middle of the body, vertical brush-stroke down the handle, repaired; and a pottery three-handled jar, the squat hemispherical jar of very compressed form, the three vertical ring handles around the shoulder painted dark brown, the neck also, a painted band around the lip of the flat rim, a broad wave band around the body, the flat base with concentric circles, 14th Century B.C.
