BLANCPAIN. A LADY'S 18K GOLD AND DIAMOND-SET WRISTWATCH WITH BRACELET AND CONCEALED DIAL
Blancpain The Swiss company Blancpain, located in Le Brassus, Switzerland, was founded in 1735 by Jean-Jacques Blancpain. In his early forties Blancpain laid down the roots of a family business that thirteen generations later is highly respected worldwide. Responsible for building the prototype of the first automatic wristwatch in 1926, the company went on to create the world's most compact wristwatch in 1956, thus creating a fashion for miniature watches. Later inventions include the smallest moon phase movement (1984), the slimmest moon phase movement (1988) and the slimmest wrist chronograph (1989). The firm has been acquired by the Swatch group.
