With nickel finished lever movement, 36 jewls, 21k gold-rimmed rotor engraved 1954 Gerard Mercator 1994, the fine enamel dial depicting the twelve animals of the Chinese Zodiac, the time indicated by hands resembling legs of the early hand-held compasses used by Gerardus Mercator, both moving in an arc over two sectors calibrated for 12 hours and 60 minutes with Arabic numerals, the circular case with stepped bezel and fluted lugs, glazed snap on back, together with an 18k gold Vacheron & Constantin double deployant clasp, case, dial and movement signed
