R 27 PS, with nickel finished lever movement, 39 jewels, 22k gold micro-rotor, repeating on two gongs, the white enamel dial with Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds, the circular case with shaped lugs, glazed display back, repeating mechanism operated by slide in the band, together with an 18k gold Patek Philippe buckle, case, dial and movement signed
33 mm. diam.

This watch is accompanied by a Patek Philippe presentation box with outer packaging and certificate of origin

Reference 3979 was produced in 1995 and only in yellow gold. It is interesting to note that its self-winding movement, caliber R 27 PS, consists of 342 parts.

The design of reference 3979 was inspired by an earlier minute repeating wristwatch by Patek Philippe, ref. 2524/1 from 1957, which is illustrated in Huber & Banbery's Patek Philippe Wristwatches, Second Edition, 1998, p.319, pl.447a-c.
