A fine 20th-Century barograph/barometer,
by Negretti & Zambra, with a glazed cover and oak base with drawer -- 42.5cm. (16¾in.) wide
The recording index has a clamp to place it against the clockwork recording drum; at the other end it is connected via a fusee chain to a small drum. The movement of the recording index dictates the position of a second index attached to the drum, against a semi-circular barometer scale, showing conditions from stormy to very dry. This scale is stamped with the maker's name, their logo, and MADE IN ENGLAND. The base plate has an ink bottle and a plaque stamped R/29115. It is stamped itself with "REGENT" JEWELLED MOVEMENT.
