by George Philip & Son, in the rare original card box -- 16.8cm. (6 5/8in.) high

Philips' 3 inch TERRESTRIAL GLOBE GEORGE PHILIP & SON LTD London Geog. Inst. The globe is made up of twelve chromolithographed gores and two polar calottes. The equatorial and meridian at 30°W of Greenwich are graduated in degrees; the ecliptic is ungraduated. The continents are shaded in pink, yellow, orange and green and show cities, rivers and mountains (some rubbing and dirt throughout). The globe is raised on a baluster-turned and ebonised wooden stand and circular plinth base. The card box is applied with a label on one side PHILIPS' THREE-INCH Terrestrial GLOBE PRINTED IN COLOURS MOUNTED ON EBONIZED STAND GEORGE PHILIP & SON, Ltd. 32 FLEET STREET, LONDON.
