COX'S Terrestr.l Globe all Discoveries to FEB.1.1839. The globe is made up of hand-coloured engraved gores and two polar calottes. The equatorial is graduated in degrees; the prime meridian is ungraduated; the ecliptic is graduated in twelve times 1-30° with sigils. The continents have some areas delicately shaded or outlined in pink or orange and show cities, rivers and deserts (some small areas of discolouration with minor detail loss, and repairs to the South Pole). There are two iron axis pins which fit in slots in the case; the domed lid has a flat knop.
