A 19th-century Malby-type mahogany table globe stand,
for an 18-inch diameter globe, converted into a table -- 41cm. (16 1/8in.) high

The engraved paper horizon is hand-coloured and edged in red. It is graduated in degrees of amplitude and azimuth, with thirty-two compass points, days of the houses of the Zodiac and days of the month and an equation of time. A bar stretching from North to South mounted beneath the ring supports a mahogany disc which forms a table-top, with a simple geometric rosette in black in the centre. The horizon is supported on three fluted legs united by baluster turned cross stretchers (brass meridian support absent)
