A 19th-Century lacquered-brass 3-inch astronomical telescope,
signed on the backplate DOLLOND * LONDON The Student's and numbered 7111, with an accompanying tripod and a fitted mahogany carrying case -- 116.5cm. (47 7/8in.) long

The 105.4cm. (41½in.) long body-tube has an inset objective lens for shading, a star-finder with dust-cap, and rack and pinion adjustment for the eyepiece extension tube. Accessories include three eyepieces and three extension tubes. The carrying case is painted pink on the inside, with two brass strap loops on the ends, two brass hooks and eyes, and a brass plaque on the lid scratched DOLLOND'S 3" REFRACTOR. The accompanying mahogany tripod has a simple cast-iron mounting for two nubs on the side of the telescope body-tube, atop a simple swivelling mount.
