A late 18th-Century lacquered-brass Culpeper-type monocular microscope,
signed on the circular stage W.& S. JONES, 30 Holborn London, in a pyramid-shaped mahogany case -- 33cm. (13in.) high

The barrel focuses by sliding vertically in the main body-tube. The body-tube is raised on three scroll supports above the stage, which is raised on three larger scroll supports from the circular mahogany base. A concave mirror is mounted on the base beneath the stage. Loose in the case are three objectives numbered 1, 3 and 4, a sprung slide holder, a live box and one ivory slider. The case has a brass carrying handle.
