A 19th-Century lacquered-brass and black enamelled botanist's microscope,
signed E. Leitz Wetzlar, in a fitted wooden case -- 19.7cm. (7¾in.) wide; and other Leitz items.

There are three eyepieces: Leitz x30 and x10 and a Baker x9. These sit in a metal ring which is raised and lowered via rack and pinion within the main brass column. The stage has a central aperture with a removable glass disc, slide holders and leatherette-covered metal arm rests. The substage mirror has a white disc on the reverse and is fixed to the main column, over the black enamelled U-shaped foot. There is a plaque on the inside of the lid for ROSS Ltd 31, COCKSPUR STREET CHARING CROSS.
and a black crackle-finished microscope lamp by Ernst Leitz, in a mahogany carrying case; a lacquered-brass and black enamelled binocular eyepiece attachment, by Leitz, with micrometer adjustment and six eyepieces, in a plush-lined fitted case, the lid with leatherette covering gilt stamped E. Leitz, Wetzlar -- 17.4cm. (6 7/8in.) wide; x10 and x12 eyepieces, both stamped 4, one with the Watson logo, in a small fitted leatherette-covered case stamped on the lid Ernst Leitz Wetzlar -- 6.1cm. (2 3/8in.) wide;
and a diagnostic microscope by Ross in a mahogany case with two brass hooks and eyes and a wooden carrying handle (locked) -- 26.7cm. (10½in.) wide (5)
