Of rocaille form, the waisted case surmounted by a sunburst behind Cupid driving his cloudbourne dove-drawn chariot, the circular dial with Roman enamelled chapters, incised Arabic minutes, and twin-train movement, with indistinct signature and PARIS, above a further Cupid covering a recumbent Psyche
41 in. (104.1 cm.) high; 20 in. (50.8 cm.) wide

An example of this cartel d'applique, signed by Jacques Caffièri and with movement by Cronier, Paris, may be found in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (see H. Ottomeyer and P. Pröschel et al., Vergoldete Bronzen, Munich, 1986, p. 117, fig. 2.5.11).
