Hercule et le sanglier d'Érymanthe (Hercules and the Erymanthean boar)

An early work, dating from around 1825, Hercule et le sanglier d'Érymanthe exists in several different versions. In the 1840s, the modèle was acquired and edited by Émile Martin. Using the wax modèle, the work was also cast in silver by Henri Vever.

Another cast of this model, formerly in the collection of Eduardo Guinle (d. 1941), was sold in these rooms, 25 April 2003, lot 72 ($4,780).
