A LARGE VIENNA STYLE BLUE-GROUND BALUSTER VASE AND COVER
Early 20th century, blue beehive mark, the upper scene signed Seller, one lower scene signed Eistner
With pinecone finial, and domed cover, the front finely painted with a quayside scene of Chistopher Columbus returning from the New World with Indians, fruits and parrots, the reverse with an interior scene with two seated monarchs and attendants being instructed by a scientist in his laboratory, within elaborate gilt bands of wreaths and foliage, raised on a circular waisted plinth painted with two further scenes, of Columbus in chains and Columbus kissing King Ferdinand's hand, reserved on the cobalt-blue ground and gilt filigree band
