Date code for 1896, gilt crowned globe and impressed marks, incised X., gilt k and signed A(lboin) Birks
Each with gilt ball finial above reeded conical covers, the slender necks enriched with gilt seeded scrolling foliage, fitted with foliate loop handles, the fronts finely painted and hand tooled in white slip with a putto in wind-blown drapery, walking with his left hand raised and a staff in his right hand, the other with a putto poised to shoot an arrow, beneath trailing leafy vine, the backs with amatory trophies, on knopped socle supports and stepped domed bases
