A CARVED BAMBOO VENEER PAPER KNIFE AND FITTED BOX
QING DYNASTY, 18TH/EARLY 19TH CENTURY
The long rectangular box with a sliding cover carved in low relief with sprays of narcissus growing from rockwork and inscribed with the carver's name Shang Xun, the knife inscribed on both sides of the handle, Gong wo wen fang and Yu gong zhao xi, which translate as 'utensils for my studio'
