A Dutch engraved Friendship goblet
Circa 1750
The funnel bowl engraved with two clasped hands in a rocaille cartouche above trelliswork, flanked by tied laurel branches, the reverse inscribed VRIENDSCHAP DIERBAAR SOUT DAT ALLES IN HET LEEVEN HOUT (Friendship cherished salt that keeps everything alive), on a multi-knopped stem enclosing an elongated tear, the domed foot folded
