Pope Clement XIV issued the bull Dominus ac Redemptor noster on the 21th of July 1773 which suppressed the Jesuit order. A long and formidable list of charges had been concocted against the 22.000 members of the order. Pope Pius VII restored the order of Jesus Christ on the 7th of august 1814.
