Georges Favre-Jacot founded in 1865 a watch manufacture in Le Locle which was re-namend ZENITH in 1911 after he retired.

In 1954, Zenith set the timing record in the "wrist-chronomoter" category and won the Neuchâtel Observatory price for movements produced in series with the famous caliber 135, the same caliber as found in the present watch.
