Cal. 19", with nickel-finished fully jewelled lever movement, bimetallic compensation balance, wolf's tooth winding, minute repeating on two polished hammers onto two gongs, gold cuvette, the white enamel dial with black Roman numerals, outer Arabic five minute division, blued steel spade hands, aperture for phases of the moon combined with lunar calendar, three subsidiary dials indicating day, month and date combined with constant seconds, in circular heavy case with inlaid black enamel initials AA to the back, chronograph mechanism operated through a button in the crown and locked with a sliding lever in the band to pendant, repeating slide in the band, case, cuvette, dial and movement signed and numbered

Lot Essay

Accompanied by Patek Philippe Certificat d'Origine et de Garantie dated 24 September 1896 and confirming production of this watch with the black enamel monogram AA. It is also delivered with its original fitted wooden presentation box still featuring Patek Philippe label numbered 97008 to the bottom and containing a spare crystal.

Furthermore accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1892 and its subsequent sale on 28 September 1896.

It is interesting to know that the watch has been overhauled by Patek Philippe in Geneva in February 2003.
