Qianlong (1736-95)
Each piece enamelled with a coat-of-arms, helmet and crown for the Marchesi di Sorbello below floral swags at the border between unusual iron-red and gilt foliate motifs in the well and continuous stylised leaves at the rim, comprising:
An oblong octagonal soup tureen, cover and stand with hare-head handles and foliage frond finial, the stand 14½ in. (37 cm.) wide
An oblong octagonal tureen-stand, 14½ in. (36.8 cm.) wide
A pair of oblong octagonal dishes, 11¼ in. (28.5 cm.) wide
Twenty-five octagonal plates, 9¼ in. (23.2 cm.) wide
Fourteen octagonal soup-plates, 9 in. (23 cm.) wide
