MONRO, Alexander, secundus (1733-1817). A Description of all the Bursae Mucosae of the Human Body, Edinburgh: C. Elliot, T. Kat & Co and London: Charles Elliot, 1788. 2° (479 x 293mm). 10 engraved plates, of which 4 plates are cut in half, the second halves bound in at the end. (Spotted, mainly at beginning and end, long but clean tear to second half of plate V.) Contemporary sprinkled calf (quite rubbed and scuffed, tail of spine chipped, front joints cracked but firmly holding). Provenance: Christ Church, Oxford (bookplate) -- Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.
