4° (185 x 134mm). Collation: a-m8 n6. 100 leaves (of 102, lacking k1 and m7). Type: 3:110G., 4:110G.. 26 lines. Printed in red and black. 15 woodcuts from 12 blocks, woodcut 4-part border to each page, woodcut historiated initials. (A little worming in first and last few leaves affecting a few letters, some light soiling, a few upper borders shaved, several hinges strengthened.) ?17th-century Italian light brown goatskin over pasteboard, missing two ties (rubbed, lightly restored at spine and corners); modern slipcase with brown half-morocco sleeve. Provenance: Dr. Otto-Schäfer-Stiftung, e.V. (OS monogram stamp).
ONLY COPY KNOWN. The handsome types are companion founts designed for liturgical printing. Rava identified two of the woodcuts as subsequently appearing in a Zaroto Missal of 1504 (Sander 4707: Annunciation) and a work by Pietro da Lucca (Sander 5706: Adoration f the Shepherds), printed at Milan by G.A. della Rovera in 1514. Not in EDIT on-line; Rava 5070a (this copy); A. Ganda, 'Zarotto de Parma', Bibliofilia 81, 1979, no. 203 (taken from Rava: 'non si conoscono esemplari').
