Parts I-IV, IX-XII only (of 12) bound in 4 volumes, folio (parts I-IV and IX-X: 365 x 230mm.; parts XI-XII: 320 x 195mm). 6 letterpress titles surrounded by hand-coloured and colour-printed nature-printed borders of flowers and leaves, 4pp. dedication to Frederic V of Denmark in part XII, a total of 10pp. of preliminary text in part I (4pp.) and III (6pp.), 16pp. 'Index Universalis' in part XII, 14pp. of indices to individual parts. 798 (of 800) plates of nature-printed plants, colour-printed, most with added hand-colouring, each with letterpress caption. (Lacking 2 plates from parts I or II, some general spotting and light offsetting as usual, parts I-IV and IX-X with occasional marginal tears, affecting image area in 11 cases, some plates in parts XI and XII shaved.) Parts I-IV and IX-X in contemporary sheep decorated in gilt and blind (scuffed, spines chipped); parts XI-XII in contemporary half speckled sheep (scuffed, tears to spine, joints slightly split).
MIXED ISSUE. PARTS I-IV AND IX-X ARE FROM A LARGE-PAPER ISSUE.
