(Some heavy soiling, title and preliminaries frayed at outer margin, I3, Y3, Cc4 and Yy2 repaired at blank margin, O4 with small hole and ink stains on verso, Aa1 torn at lower margin, other short tears and stains.) Early 17th-century French calf gilt, covers tooled to a fanfare design of foliage and flowers within linked compartments, gilt spine panels (rebacked, old spine preserved though possibly from another binding, some stains on covers, corners restored, new pastedowns and endpapers, a reimboitage).
