JAMES II BINDING -- ROQUETTE, Henry Emmanuel de (d. 1725). Oraison funèbre de .... Jacques II. Prononcée le 19 jour de Septembre 1702 dans l'Eglise des Religieuses de la Visitation de Chaillot, où repose le Coeur de sa Majesté. Paris: Christopher Remy, 1702.

Sombre binding of contemporary black morocco, COVERS STAMPED IN BLIND WITH THE ARMS OF JAMES II AND MARY OF MODENA, border of blind fillets with tool of a flaming heart at corners, spine in six compartments with repeated flaming heart device, black marbled endpapers, marbled edges (upper cover with repair to lower corner causing loss to ornament, lower cover with worm traces, some slight discolouration).
FIRST EDITION. James II died at St. Germains on 6 September, 1701. His remains were provisionally taken to the English Benedictine Church of St. Edmund in the Fauborg St. Jacques. This oration was delivered at the burial of his heart at the Convent of the Visitation at Chaillot the following year.
